In short, no.
A key feature of the PainChek App is its ability to conduct automated analysis of the face of the to determine whether facial indicators of pain are present.
In order to do this, PainChek uses an AI system and your device's camera to look for specific facial muscle movements which are indicative of pain (based on the facial action coding system (FACS)).
Thanks to the AI system being built into the PainChek App, we never need to take a photo, a video, or send any images from your device - when you press the 'Start Analysis' button, the system simply looks at what's on your screen in real-time and is able to detect the presence of facial indicators of pain in just 3 seconds! This means you don't need to be connected to the internet to conduct a pain assessment, and never need to worry about pictures or videos of your being saved or stored.
Please note that a PainChek User may capture a profile picture for an individual (i.e. a photo) and those images are stored on the device and transferred to the PainChek back-end, however, this is an optional feature and an organisation can choose not to record profile pictures in order to comply with their specific organisational policies.
